I am honored to be president of simply the best Rotary club I have ever seen! Over the last 10 years, I have visited (and joined) many Rotary clubs: from my original club, San Francisco #2, to many clubs in California, Europe, Mexico and Canada. What sets the Encinitas Rotary club apart from all the others is its vivacity, its diversity, and the commitment of its members. We are an active, vital club that does hands-on and monetary contributions. We have major involvement with our district, which helps us keep abreast of what is unarguably the most dynamic Rotary district in the world.

   This year, Rotary’s theme is Reach Within To Embrace Humanity. To abide by that theme, I hope to bring the significant power of Rotary to help in areas that will benefit our community and our planet, such as education, microcredit, and clean water. This year we look forward to improving our community and our world through donations of over $125,000 and projects where we donate our time and energy.  We are excited to be on the brink of a polio-free world, thanks mostly to Rotary’s efforts over these last 25 years.

   A few years ago, a Rotary district governor made a plea to help people understand what Rotary is. If you ask me, I will say, Rotary is fellowship, great people, a worldwide brotherhood united in a common goal of making the world a better place. Mostly, though, Rotary is what you make of it. Come discover what you can do for Rotary and what Rotary can do for you!
